As a Southeast Delco graduate and longtime nonprofit volunteer, Michele works to ensure families understand and can actively participate in their child’s education. Her deep involvement in district programs, combined with her experience as a parent of four, helps guide her commitment to safe learning environments and strong family partnerships.

Alumni Spotlight: Jordon McGowan, Class of 2021! 🌟
It was at Southeast Delco that Jordon first learned the power of perseverance and community. After earning a full-ride scholarship through the prestigious Bill and Melinda Gates Scholarship, he was accepted into Drexel University to study biomedical engineering.
While at Drexel, he contributed to a published research paper focused on a pediatric artificial heart and spent over a year as an R&D project engineer for an orthopedic prosthetic manufacturer. His work is already making a difference in the lives of others! 🔬
“Going to Southeast Delco taught me to embrace my community and learn that it takes a village to raise a student,” Jordon says.
We’re proud to see how far Jordon has come—and we cannot wait to see what he does next! 🎉

This initiative ensures that all students will experience at least one academic field trip during the 2025-26 school year. Whether exploring science centers, museums, historic sites, or cultural institutions, these experiences are designed to spark curiosity and deepen classroom connections.
We’re proud to provide meaningful opportunities that extend beyond the school walls!

Her work earned a $100 gift card to Blick Art Materials in recognition of her artistic achievement.
Chrissabell’s artwork, along with pieces by fellow Academy Park High School students Gabrielle James and Bonita Freeman, is currently on view at the DCCC Fine Arts Building through February 6! 🎨

Samantha always knew she wanted to help people—she just wasn’t sure how at first. After graduating in 2009, she explored psychology, worked full time, and gained valuable experience at Wawa and Wawa Corporate. It wasn’t until she purchased her first home that she discovered a new path: real estate.
Since launching her career in March 2019, Samantha has built a thriving business, mentors others, and is growing her investment portfolio. She credits her time in Southeast Delco schools with helping shape her into the person she is today.
“The teachers and staff truly cared about the kids and their jobs. I felt seen when I was at school, and that alone helped me thrive,” Samantha says.
She still remembers the impact of her 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Benson, who “showed me genuine care, offered tough love when I needed it, and celebrated me with praise at just the right moments.” Samantha now brings that same energy into her real estate work.
We’re proud to celebrate Samantha’s success and the meaningful way she continues to serve others! 🌟
