Southeast Delco’s gifted program students had a hands-on learning experience at Lucille’s Garden and Kitchen at Tyler Arboretum last month! They explored where food comes from, how plants grow, and the science behind preparing simple, healthy recipes. 🍎

Students harvested cucamelons, gathered sweet potatoes, and planted cilantro seeds to continue growing at home. In the teaching kitchen, they used farm-grown ingredients to create small rhubarb pies and cook sweet potato leaves, gaining confidence as they measured, chopped, and tasted new foods!

This visit brought science, math, nutrition, and culinary skills together in a meaningful way for our students. 💙
