The Southeast Delco School District hosted School Yard Rap for an educational assembly for 6th through 8th grade students.
School Yard Rap uses hip-hop music and storytelling to educate students on the contributions, achievements, and experiences of African Americans, Latino/a communities, Asian Pacific Islanders, women, and other cultural groups.
The interactive presentation encouraged students to develop a deeper understanding of different perspectives while promoting inclusion, empathy, and respect for others.
“This fun and engaging event allowed us to provide an opportunity for students to learn about and celebrate the cultural diversity of our school community,” said Dr. Marchelle Foreman, Chief of Strategic Initiatives. “The event was highly engaging for both students and staff. We are looking forward to hosting more culturally enriched learning opportunities for our students and staff in the future.”
This event reflects the Southeast Delco School District’s ongoing commitment to providing meaningful learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom and support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
