Sharon Hill teacher Brittaney Weeks has received the Best Teacher Under the Sun Award from the Sun East Federal Credit Union. 

Each year, Sun East selects one elementary, middle, and high school teacher for the Best Teacher Under the Sun award, recognizing teachers going above and beyond to support and empower students. Applications are open to all teachers from schools that are Select Employee Groups (SEGS) with Sun East. 

Weeks was nominated by Sharon Hill’s instructional specialist, April Kaisner, for her extraordinary dedication, leadership, and care.

“Beyond supporting students academically and helping them build confidence in mathematics, she consistently goes above and beyond through her involvement in numerous leadership roles,” said Kaisner. “She dedicates countless hours to planning and attending afterschool activities that create meaningful experiences for students and strengthen our school community. Most importantly, she builds genuine, positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, making every child feel supported, valued, and encouraged to succeed.” 

As a Best Teacher Under the Sun award recipient, Weeks received a $500 check as well as a $500 donation for Sharon Hill. 

“We are so proud of Brittaney for receiving this outstanding award,” said Superintendent Dr. Yamil Sanchez Rivera. “She represents the best of Southeast Delco Schools, and we are fortunate to have teachers like her as part of our school community.”
