The Southeast Delco School District has partnered with West Chester University to offer its students enrollment in the PRIZE (Partnering in Raising Inclusive Zealous Educators) Program.

Through this partnership, the district will cover the full cost of enrollment for eligible 11th grade students. The program provides a structured pathway into the teaching profession while students are still in high school. Students with an interest in becoming educators are encouraged to apply.

The PRIZE program allows students to gain hands-on classroom experience and insight into the daily responsibilities of teachers, while also learning and receiving mentorship from experienced educators. They earn dual enrollment college credits at no cost, as well as have the opportunity to complete student teaching within the Southeast Delco School District.

“We are excited to offer our students the opportunity to explore the teaching profession and earn college credit at no cost,” said Superintendent Dr. Yamil Sanchez Rivera. “The PRIZE program will allow students to gain real-world skills and practical experience in preparation for a future career in education. We are proud to provide our students with opportunities to prepare for future success, no matter which career path they choose.”

As part of the PRIZE program, students can participate in the PRIZE Summer Institute, a one-week residential experience taking place Monday, June 14, through Friday, June 19, 2026. The Summer Institute offers students an immersive introduction to the program, college life, and the field of education.

Applications must be submitted by May 1 for participation during the 2026-27 school year. For more information and to apply, visit www.wcupa.edu/education-socialWork/prize/new-prize-applicant.aspx.
