Welcome to 6th grade!
Science is taught for the first semester and social studies is taught for the second semester.Sixth grade students are required to carry an on-level book for his/her reading pleasure at all times. In the event that a student is finished his/her assigned work or complete a test before other students finish, it is expected to read something of interest.Homework will be assigned two to three nights a week except on Fridays; however, studying is required every night to be a successful 6th grade student. Homework will be posted in the classroom every Monday for the entire week as well as on the school website. Homework for individual day will be posted on the chalkboard. Students are expected to be responsible for copying down homework or looking it up on the internet and completing homework each night. One day will be permitted for make up with reduced credit.Please take the time to go over Delcroft Expectations with your child. These can be found in both the student handbook as well as the student agenda. Check your student's agenda each evening to check for homework assignments and any notes from teachers.Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Please know that I will not answer the classroom phone during instructional time. Please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as I am not with students.
