Facilities and Operations
The energy efficient Southeast Delco School District maintains four elementary school (Grades 1 through 8) buidings, one high school, one Kindergarten Center, and one administration building. The district is formed by three booughs and one township: Collingdale, Folcroft, Sharon Hill, and Darby Township. In the last 13 years, Southeast Delco School District has renovated all school buildings. These renovations included energy efficient lighting, HVAC, and water conserving plumbing fixtures. Also, the HVAC systems are designed to provide sufficient air exchange to meet and exceed ASHRAE standards providing for healthier conditions within the classrooms and miscellaneous spaces.Academy Park High School received the most recent renovation. The HVAC system was designed with the most current equipment that is highly effective in providing for the health and conform of students, staff, and visitors. The lighting system is primarily controlled by occupancy sensors reducing the "on time" of building lighting thereby reducing the amount of energy consumed. It is also noteworthy that the lighting system occupancy sensors are integrated with the HVAC system and when a space becomes unoccupied for a specified period, not only will the lights turn off, but the HVAC system will also ramp down further reducing the amount of energy used to propel those devices. The Southeast Delco School District is committed to energy conservation, along with the comfort and safety of all occupants.
The Southeast Delco School District received the Commitment To Excellence in Workplace Safety Award in April of 2014.Tennis Courts After RenovationsThe maintenance, grounds, and custodial department is complimented by six custodians, six maintenance technicians, four grounds personnel, and one office assistant.Mr. Scott OvingtonFacilities & Operations Directorsovington@sedelco.org
