Office of the Superintendent of School

Dr. Brenda Wynder, Superintendent of Schools

    Greetings Southeast Delco Community,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the start of the 2020-21 school year and officially introduce myself to everyone.  I am honored to be the Superintendent of the Southeast Delco School District. I deeply believe in a quality and comprehensive education for all students.  I am confident that strategic planning, rigorous feedback on evaluations, and professional development are key components to schools and districts increasing student achievement.  My mission is to ensure that staff and students are provided with a positive environment that will cultivate and motivate them to perform at their level best and cause them to grow.  As our staff and students achieve, our community prospers.  I will pursue partnerships with businesses and local organizations in an effort to create opportunities for our students. It is crucial that we work together to meet the needs of our students by providing them with a sense of belonging while helping them to grow intellectually, emotionally and socially.   My mission as your Superintendent is also my passion and the reason why I do what I do.   I will work diligently to make a difference in the lives of Southeast Delco students.  I am often quoted stating, “Children are my work,” and my daily actions embody this philosophy.

I would like to take this time to tell you a little about myself. First and foremost, I am the proud mother of one daughter, Shayla. I have been an educator for 29 years. I have spent my professional career focusing on creating environments that support increasing student achievement and improving staff performance. I am passionate about creating professional development opportunities that not only perfect my craft, but also the knowledge and practices of the educators I serve. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University, Master of Education from Salisbury State University and Doctor of Education from Delaware State University. My experience include a well-rounded K-12 educational career. I have worked in New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, curriculum director and superintendent.   I have had the opportunity to present both locally and nationally on the steps required to increase student achievement to educators and administrators from across the country.

In conclusion, as we maneuver through the pandemic, we must remain hopeful that things will be better soon, practice safe and healthy habits and encourage someone who may feel hopeless or helpless at this time.  If we employ these practices, we will grow stronger, resilient and make a difference in the lives of others.  I look forward to meeting you in the near future.
