Family & Community

The Southeast Delco School District believes the family is the first teacher. The community is the first classroom. Both play vital roles in educating our children. The district is committed to drawing upon the strength and input of families in making education work for the students and communities we serve.

Research informs us that children whose Parents/Guardians are actively involved in the Home and School, or PTO/PTA, perform better in school. We urge you to become an active member of your child(ren's) school. Click on the Schools link above or contact the building Principal for further information.

Quality Education

Every child is entitled to a quality, challenging educational experience that prepares her/him for success in life. Each student's potential must be nurtured with the care and direction of excellent schools, good programs, and a healthy environment. To this end, the Southeast Delco School District administrators and teachers strive to develop learning-rich, technology-rich opportunities that tie to the Pennsylvania Academic Standards. We endeavor to provide a learning environment that promotes engaging, hands-on, active participation for all students.

Parent Information Under NCLB:

It is the desire of the Southeast Delco School District to have highly qualified teachers in all areas of instruction. Parents of students in Title I schools are entitled to request information regarding the professional qualifications of the teachers and paraprofessionals who provide instructional services to their children. If you would like such information please contact your building Principal to arrange for your request.

In addition Federal Guidelines under No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Law requires that instruction in schools receiving Title I funding must be performed by a highly qualified instructor. Rarely is this an issue. If, during the course of the year, a temporary non-highly qualified instructor must be hired to fill a vacancy of more than 20 instructional days, parents will be notified of the situation and the options available to them.
