During this school year, professional development activities will include: Curriculum Development; Walkthroughs; Action Research; and ongoing workshops on differentiated instruction in depth to improve strategies and techniques for teachers. Topics during the 2005-2006 year will include: Curriculum Mapping; Differentiated Instruction; Diversity; Conflict Management, and Adopt-an-Anchor. It is the goal of the department to stay linked to student outcomes. The district Professional Development Committee will meet several times a year to review and plan for district-wide inservice days. The district Induction and Mentoring Committee has prepared a revised induction and mentoring plan for the coming school year.
The Department of Program Monitoring and Program Assessment is one that is newly implemented at the Southeast Delco School District this year. The main endeavor of this department will be to track programs in the district, reflect on (and celebrate) the success of our efforts, and refine or change the program course when necessary. Data collection, with a balance of qualitative and quantitative data, and the processing and analysis of that data will be integral to the operation of the department goal to evaluate program components as measured against district goals. Reports will be prepared, which will reflect program monitoring and assessment objectives.
