Southeast Delco School District maintains four Elementary School (Grades 1 through 8) Buildings, one High School, one Kindergarten Center, and one Administration Building. The District is formed by three boroughs and one township: Collingdale, Folcroft, Sharon Hill, and Darby Township.
Five of our schools have recently received additions and renovations as part of the conversion to Grades 1 to 8 configuration. The Darby Township School campus underwent renovations including a 20,000 square foot addition. Currently, the Academy Park High School is undergoing an addition/renovation project that added approximately 25,000 square feet. Three new wings were added that include a three-story tower that provided twelve new classrooms, a single story wing for Athletics and Health, and another single story wing for Art and Music. This project began in June of 2011 and will complete in August, 2013.
The Southeast Delco School District is committed to energy conservation. The renovations to the buildings were designed with energy conservation as a primary goal. New highly efficient lighting, energy conserving heating, air conditioning/ventilation equipment, and low water consumption fixtures are being installed.
The ventilation systems are connected to a building management system that provides the ability to schedule "on-off" times which produces further energy conservation.
A new rubber track was installed for the use of the District for track events but also provides a convenient and comfortable walking surface for residents of the surrounding communities.
The Maintenance, Grounds, and Custodial Department is complimented by six Custodians, seven Maintenance technicians, four Grounds personnel and one Secretary.
